Resort Information

Wilderness/Presidential Resorts, 65 miles south of Washington, D.C., borders the Wilderness and Chancellorsville Civil War Battlefields. In addition to the national monuments of Washington, there are several historical shrines near the resort: George Washington's mother's home, his sister's home, James Monroe's law offices, a colonial museum called The Chimneys, George Washington's favorite tavern: The Rising Sun Tavern, and two more battlefields (Spotsylvania and Fredericksburg). The huge amusement theme park at Kings Dominion is 40 miles south of the resort.

Units feature a full kitchen with utensils for six, fireplaces, Jacuzzi tubs, porches and balconies, TVs, comfortable living and dining areas, grill and picnic tables on some porches, and everything you need to have a wonderful vacation!

Northern Virginia is rich with Civil War history and this resort is surrounded by battlefields. Washington D.C. is just an hour’s drive away, and many tours are available. Less than an hour away is Paramounts Kings Dominion, an all-day amusement center with everything from rollercoasters to water-parks. The area is an outdoor wonderland with lakes to fish, paths to bike, and trails to hike.
