I guess mine must be a very generic question to most of you. I am looking for a vacation plan that is easy to use. From what I have heard till now from owners, it seems to me that the RCI points owners are the happiest lot of them all. Now I am interested in knowing whether you can use the points to get the resorts you want? To put it in a nutshell, would anyone of you RCI owners go for RCI points, if you had to do it all over again? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
I'd go for RCI, no doubt about that. But in general, points system is much better than timeshare weeks. My 60,000 points have made vacationing a lot easy for me and I just love the points based system. I have heard from my friends about the great trades that they make out of weeks, but they are not for me. I don’t have the time or the expertise to do so. With the points based system, I need not worry about things like trading up, down or trading power and a host of other things that week owners are saddled with. With points, all I need to do is to check how many I have and then pack my bags. Points are much more flexible and great. Got my point?
My RCI points based system at Fairfield is very easy to use. All that I need to do is to hop online or call up, compare the required points to what is available with me and then book, if they are enough. You can also either rent or borrow additional points, if you need them. It can’t get any simpler than this. I say this out of personal experience. I was into weeks for several years and it was almost like a full time job for me. In fact the hassles of looking for week to match up for another week made me rue my decision to opt for timeshares and I was almost on the verge of bidding adieu to timeshares. Till I purchased Fairfield. I have since then converted all my weeks to have the ability to take part in a points based system and taken the hassle out of timeshares.
