I'm trying to sell my timeshare in Vegas. I've been waiting for sometime now and recently I came across a few timeshare websites which looked pretty decent. Has anyone tried selling their timeshare through these sites? It would be great if you could point out the "actual" difference they can make to the selling process. I'd love to hear from you guys. Thanks in advance.
All the replies to your question seem one sided like maybe your question and the replies were all posed by a timeshare selling company. I have had a timeshare listed for over 20 weeks with one of these companies and have not received any offers on my property. Listed for less than market value. Getting a little disgusted.
I have to agree with you bobbyk. Breaking my head with the legal issues would be the last thing I want to do. I'll try some of these companies and will let you people know. Anyways, thank you for your comments everyone.
If you plan to take care of the selling process yourself, you need to do lots of planning and research, and most importantly, you need to have loads of patience. I tried it once, and I had to spend a LOT MORE time than what I expected to spend. This apart, you will have to hire an attorney to take care of the legalities involved (document preparation, verification, etc) and it might prove to be expensive. To me, this alone sounds like a good enough reason to go for a timeshare company. They take care of both the marketing part and the legal part, which seems like the easy way out for me. But, like everyone else has said, do your homework. Do some research on four or five companies and go for the one you think is the best.

Perhaps the main difference is the marketing strategy of these websites. They list your timeshare and they make sure their visitors notice it. And regular visitors who come to that website are most likely to be potential buyers, as they usually come searching for good deals. If you have priced your timeshare reasonably, chances are that sooner or later you might find a buyer.
Secondly, the timeshare company will take care of the intricacies involved in the sale process. I've seen a couple instances where the buyer got ripped off and he had to pay the maintenance fee which was long overdue. So, buyers are usually wary when it comes to buying timeshares from strangers. If the process is done by the company, the buyer can rest assured that everything will be taken care of. This sense of security is very reassuring for most buyers.
So, a timeshare company can be considered a proper channel. But make sure you check out the track record of the company you're gonna deal with. Once you've found the right one, then most probably your timeshare sale would be a hassle-free process.
They do make a lot of difference. First of all, they have a very good marketing strategy in place. They list your timeshare and make sure their visitors see it. The more visitors visit the site, the more are the chances for your timeshare to get sold out. Moreover, the company will take charge of all the legalities involved in the process, and hence the buyer can expect a fair deal. So, it's definitely worth giving a try. But make sure you inquire about their company policy, their strategy, and other things.
