Timeshare - owning vs renting

Hi all. I own a timeshare in Hawaii, where I had been to a couple of weeks ago. After coming back I went on a trip to the Caribbean islands where I stayed in a rented unit which I located online. The place was clean and just about great for staying. That set me thinking whether I should have purchased a timeshare in the first place. Your thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

May be it is a case of ‘to each his own’. While some prefer rentals there are numerous others who would rather own a timeshare.

I am firmly in the own camp here. That’s my perception about this whole issue of renting vs. owning. Also, given the surge in the timeshare industry, owning is a good option since it always adds up as an investment.

It is all a matter of comfort. When you own a timeshare you can go back to the place again and again. This kind of ‘comfort level' is possible only when you own a timeshare. In the long run it is worth the money that you pay to own the timeshare.
