Greensprings or Powhatan - Can't decide?

I'll be going to Williamsburg in a couple months for my vacation. After some research (which took quite a while), I have come up with two options in my hands. Sunterra Greensprings and Sunterra Powhatan. I went through websites, had a chat with friends, yet I can't decide which one's better. Since this is the first time I'm going to Williamsburg, I can't choose one resort over the other. If someone who had been there could give some info, it would be really helpful. I thank everyone in advance for spending your valuable time over this issue.

Thanks everyone. I've decided to go to Greensprings. Your comments were very helpful. Thanks very much.

I have been to both Greensprings and Powhatan Plantation. Greensprings is a very nice resort. Nice amenities, excellent golf course, and lots of attractions. The staff was very nice, especially the front desk. It's a very quiet and beautiful resort.

Powhatan Plantation is almost similar with good amenities and other things. But some of the units have been renovated and some of them are being renovated. Some units are still old. So, if you go to Powhatan, you would certainly want to stay in a renovated unit, which is much better. Speaking of hot tub, the resort has hot tub facility only downstairs. The units upstairs have no hot tub facility.

so, though it's a tough choice, I would say Greensprings is slightly better. Anyways, it's up to you to decide. But rest assured, you can't go wrong with either of the resorts.

I have been to the Powhatan Plantation and I can say it was good. The resort overall has nice amenities. Our room had a hot tub which was excellent. Some of the units have been renovated and some have not been renovated. I stayed in an old unit and then asked for a renovated unit, which I eventually got. The renovated unit was much better, so if you decide Powhatan, make sure you ask for a renovated unit. The resort was very spacious. I haven't been to Greensprings, so can't comment on that.

Thanks vacationguy, but I'm not much interested in golf. I would just love to spend some time alone, walking a lot, exploring the locale. Also, I would love to get some details about the amenities available in both the resorts. Which one has got better/superior amenities? Thanks again.

I've only been to Sunterra Greensprings Plantation, so I can't suggest anything about Powhatan. But I can tell you, Greensprings was awesome. The resort was very comfortable, clean, and the pool was very nice. The whole area of Williamsburg was really good with lots of attractive places to visit etc. The most attractive thing was the golf course. It's the only Jack Nicklaus golf course in Williamsburg. It was great and I spent a lot of time playing golf. So, if you love golf, then Williamsburg is the place to go.
