Vacation in Hawaii

I am planning to go to Hawaii next year. I hope a lot of you people would have visited Hawaii. Could you please give me some ideas about the islands I should visit and stuff like that? It's been more than two decades since I visited Hawaii and it seems like a million years to me. I'm sure a lot would have changed now.

Also, I own a couple weeks in July and October. Which would be the better time to visit Hawaii? Could someone help me make a decision?

Thanks in advance

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. It was really helpful. I'd love to have a laid-back vacation without a lot of crowd, so I'm planning to go there in October. Shelia, I'll check out Maui for sure. Thanks again for all your valuable time.

Hi Sally; you are right in saying that March-April is the best time to go to Hawaii. It's very sunny and bright and all that. But still, October is nice. I've been to Hawaii in October and the weather is warm and dry. You can really enjoy yourself in the sun, as you can get plenty of it. Like others have mentioned, it's less crowded during this season. If you prefer a relatively quiet vacation, (remember; not completely quiet, coz you can still find quite a few people) I would say October. Otherwise you can go in July, or any other time you want.

Nice suggestions. But wouldn't it be nicer to visit Hawaii when it's sunny? I've been to Hawaii during March and had the time of my life. The weather was just perfect with lots of sun and literally no rain. I've never been to Hawaii during October, so I'm not sure of the weather during that time. But my doubt is, is it bright and sunny during October? If it is, you can visit. But if not, make sure you go there in July even if it's a little crowded.

I agree with John. You can visit Hawaii any time of the year, it's such a beautiful place and has lots to offer. However, if you prefer less crowd, then you can go in October. Hawaii will be most crowded from March onwards, thanks to the Spring break. So, if you can go in October, you can enjoy a considerably quiet vacation. As far as Hawaii is concerned, Maui is my place. You just can't beat that. Try it out once and you'll know what I'm saying. :)

I really feel you can go to Hawaii any time you want. It is such a beautiful place and you can really enjoy yourself there, no matter what time of the year it is. As far as your question regarding places to explore is concerned, I would like to suggest Kauai. It is the BEST. Trust me, I've been there and there is not a place in Hawaii that is as beautiful as Kauai. It is kind of secluded and calm, my idea of a perfect vacation. You can try out Honolulu if you want to be in the midst of all the action.

John
