Selling my timeshare

Hi all. I am thinking of selling my timeshare to my cousin. I have owned the resort for the past decade or so. I have the deed with me and having gone through several online timeshare forums, I do have some basic knowledge of selling. I want to come on a mutually acceptable price with my cousin and reduce costs as much as possible. Is it possible that we fill out one or two forms and then inform the resort? Will this do?

I too have used quit claim deeds many times but I don’t think you will need one since you are dealing with your cousin. Anyways you can get in touch with the local recorder’s office and find out. Once you touch base with someone there you can get all the info that you need.

Make sure that you have a quit claim deed with you. This is a must for deed transfer. You can easily find templates for this type of a deed online or you can get one from an office supplies store. You can also get in touch with your resort, they will be having one. Once you fill out the quit claim deed you need to get it notarized. In most of the cases, your bank can notarize it for you. They usually do it free of cost. Then you will need to pay the county a quit claim processing fee. This fee usually differs from county to county. In some counties you are also required to show up in person in order to have your quit claim processed.
